Meetings for the week of December 16, 2024.
Schools across MMSD are preparing to welcome audiences to a variety of free musical performances in the run-up to winter break, which spans Dec. 23 through Jan. 3.
As temperatures drop and snow falls across Madison, MMSD staff work around the clock to keep our schools and grounds safe and provide information on potential closures.
The "Eastside Players” took home several awards at the 2024 Wisconsin Interscholastic Speech and Dramatic Arts Festival. The team’s production of the one-act Country Gothic received the festival’s top prize, the Critic’s Choice Award.
MMSD, in partnership with Madison College, will offer seniors the ability to participate in three new early college academies for the 2025–26 school year.
U.S. News & World Report included five MMSD schools among the top 30 in Wisconsin for their grade levels, as part of its recently released annual “Best Elementary Schools,” “Best Middle Schools” and “Best High Schools” rankings.
Student services staff from MMSD schools received donated winter clothing from community partners to ensure students stay warm, healthy, and safe as temperatures drop.
Per DPI's state report card for the 2023-24 year, MMSD held steady, earning an overall score of 66.8, translating to “Meets Expectations” (three stars).

A HUGE shout out to Mendota Elementary's Community School team! They are so welcoming and engaging with our families and the community. The Toys for Tots distribution was organized, respectful, considerate, and equitable. Thank you for being an amazing resource for our families!!!
